Perfect location in Walvisbaai/Walvis Bay, Namibia

This Guesthouse has an excellent location right at the lagoon and is only a short walking distance away from the waterfront development where you will find a few restaurants. The staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. Their service was, in general, quite good. Although the Guesthouse has a very limited menu, the food is good and portions are sufficient. They could perhaps consider adding a few more options to the menu. Also note that parking inside the premises is very limited.

Found cockroach in my room

I found a big cockroach the day I checked out. Generally the guesthouse isn’t bad, but the breakfast could be better.
If you enjoy a large buffet with options rather opt for something else. The room I got was much smaller than that of my colleague as well, although we paid the same price. He had two work tables in his room whilst I only had a small table. I’d rate it 2.5 out of 5.

Very basic

We chose to stay in Walvis Bay for convenience, as the various excursions depart from this town which, apart from this, has very little to offer. The Oyster Box is in a very convenient location, close to the docks where the various restaurants are located and the excursions depart (we had dinner at the Raft and Anchors). Modern, rather modest room. The breakfast was decidedly basic. It's good for a hit and run…
Walking around the town we saw a couple of hotels that were decidedly nicer, at least externally.
