clean, cosy and quiet place with great views

I loved it, the hotel is about 2km from the city centre which makes it very quiet. You can walk there or go with the local camion or by taxi ($25). I think the hotel only has 8-9 rooms, around a beutiful garden with direct view to the mountains. There are hamacs and tables by the pool which was super clean. The rooms are spacious, TV with cable and internet. There are various convenience stores in the street and also a small market where we had a good value local breakfast.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful too. Very nice break from the city.

Remember you're visiting a "Pueblo Magico"

Since Tepoztlán became a "pueblo Mágico" it turned very pricey, so don't panic when hearing how much a room costs. This CalliHostal is no exception. It is a bit pricey for what it is.
Good things:
- parking lot
-free wi-fi
- hot shower (you'll have to wait half an hour to get it)
- close some little stores where you canb buy the basics
- friendly staff
- nice pool and huge garden where you can even play soccer
clean and big rooms
Not so good things:
- they only have the basics for a hostel: bathroom, bed, pool, not working TV
- they sometimes run out of water
- if you don't have a car, you'll find it hard to get there since the roas is dark and some parts are paved with stones

Could be nice

I booked this place without seeing the location. For a visit to Tepoztlan, it is not appropriate as it is a bit far from the center along a relatively busy road for walking. No restaurants nearby or at the hotel, so be prepared. The pool was freezing cold, the jacuzzi was out of service, the pool chairs were broken. Nice views.
The manager was very kind and understanding and looked for a more appropriate place for us to change to in the town center. He did not charge us anything although we swam in the pool (very briefly) and kicked a soccer ball around on the field. We decided to leave and found a better place in town.
I would only recommend this place in warm weather and if you wanted to escape from town, although Tepoztlan is a charming small town well worth visiting.

El servicio del personal extraordinario. El cuadro más o menos • El baño olía a caño. Solo nos ofrecieron un jabón de cuadrito para manos, la regadera tenía la puerta rota con un hoyo en medio. Se salía el agua por ahí. Estaba en mal estado y sé metió al cuarto 2 veces. Soy muy alérgica a lo gatos.
