This hostel is small and packed. The only thing that is good is the location. S-bahn station Konigstrasse just across the road and 10 minutes to the center. However, it also means that the train running underground will shake your room (not quite disturbing for me).
Talking about the hostel itself, I have see worse in terms of hostel. Just don't expect the good quality. The hostel itself is pretty worn out, but still fine. The shower is quite ok. The service is not something that I can praise. Their check in hour start from 1pm, but I have been waited for 1.5 hrs for the host. (probably because they have a party the night before). But I guess it should be fine as the staff are friendly afterwards.
BTW their WIFI is the best hostel wifi I have ever seen
*Expect to pay 3 Euros a day per person for the beddings

Worst customer service ever- They just care about the money

This hostel is the worst. First of all they say that the payment is in cash but then after booking it they want a payment in advance which is only with a german bank account or with paypal. My only method of payment was a credit card. The cancellation was initially with charges. Therefore I called the hostel to explain the situation and the lady I spoke in the phone was very polite and she told me that I shouldn't worry about it and that we could cancel it with no charges. Afterall I started receiving warnings letters that I should pay the full amount because I cancelled the reservation. I made the reservation with booking.com and they were in contact with them assuring that the cancellation could have been made without charges. At the end, the hostel refused to admit that they said in the beginning that the cancellation was free of charge. After months they started sending more letter even tho with lawyers involved. I spoke with them and explained them again the situation, and the lady just told me there is nothing I can do, my boss just wants the money and she hung up. I tried to call many times but they were just hunging up the phone. This shows how misserable they are and they do not care about the customer that was actually right.

Perfect location

Look as with any budget accommodation there is good and bad points. Good is the location, could not be better. There was a shared kitchen and bathroom. Bad was the picking up of the keys in a building on another street, made it confusing to say the least. €20 deposit per key to the room. A 50% deposit was asked for a few weeks before trip which was not agreed during the booking at all. No towels - bring your own or hire them there. But, hey the city is fun and good value. If you were kind of on a budget like us then the best beer by far is Astra in the bottle. About €2.30 in the bars.

This hostel is very bad, no safety because everybody can come in the room, I didn’t get the key or keycard, have just 2 bathrooms and very small. And if you want to check-in after 9pm you have to pay 5€.

Ter-rib-ble. Due to the train schedule, I arrived quite late in Hamburg. I received various text messages at 22:30 such as 'Where are you?', while I agreed with the hostel days beforehand that I would arrive late. Then they wanted to charge me 10 euros extra for arriving late without ever mentioning it. I decided to stay somewhere else because of this terrible treatment, even though they still charged me for the night on my credit card. They are a total scam! Do not book here!
