Great concept w/ a few improvements needed
For everyone else, grab a snack & pull up a chair...heeeere we go (in my best Slick Rick voice) -
1) I purposely did NOT use the app because I had to test this arrangement for my relatives that are App-challenged and are interested in this type of accommodation.
2) I like to clean when I get into a hotel or Airbnb so having a full size washer/dryer and dishwasher WITH cleaning supplies like dish soap, laundry detergent and diswasher pods was WONDERFUL! They don't provide bleach or fabric softener so if you need that you can get that at the Metro grocery store across the street.
3) They had some Method spray for general cleaning but that stuff is 'meh' and I would like to see them upgrade to a Lysol or Clorox cleaning spray.
4) The apartment was well-appointed and modern but definitely on the small side. I stayed in the Artesa 1 bedroom and the building was very quiet but I'm still glad they provided earplugs and a white noise machine.
5) There wasn't a dedicated work space so if you need a good set-up for computer work you may want to set up somewhere else. I made the sofa and small table work.
6) The staff was responsive and pretty friendly. I sent a message that I needed another set of towels and they left it on my door no need for knocking and I loved that. However, they say that they will give you extra items ONCE as a courtesy but I don't know what that means? Like what extra items are they talking about? For what I'm paying I should be able to get towels as often as I want. Or maybe it's for the cleaning stuff in case they get some crazy young Americans looking to resurrect that Tide-pod Challenge.
7) Back to cleaning items - The only floor care stuff they had was a broom and a dustpan sooo 1987....bro....where is the Swiffer....what about a stick-vaccum? So that was a miss.
8) The cooking utensils have seen better days. Knives were dull. The non-stick pan clearly provided cover for an IED in a former life and I would guess that the spatula had been caught in the garbage disposal but THERE WASN'T ONE!! A wine cooler, microwave, dishwasher, fridge but NO garbage disposal. #MakeitMakeSense.
9) The bathroom included a dryer, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, & shower gel. This unit had a deep soaker tub that made me regret not bringing my overflow blocker to take advantage but overall the bathroom was the biggest disappointment. Why? Sink was a little too low and faucet too short so you constantly had a pond forming behind the faucet and my BIGGEST pet-peeve....WHERE IS THE REST OF THE SHOWER DOOR STEVEN? That's right, they did this 1/2 glass type shyyt so you really can't enjoy a good steam ANNNND the shower head was just rainfall that you couldn't adjust to another spray pattern and only minimal angle adjustment. So if you are taller it just sucks....and I ain't Angela Reese over here....I'm just 5'8.
In the end, loved the location and the set up and that I had fresh towels out of the dryer every day. I highly recommend them and look forward to staying with them in another location in the future.
