We thank you for your feedback on your recent stay with us. We apologise for the inconvenience you experienced and we would like to take this opportunity to explain why your credit card was charged twice and why it had nothing to do with greed.
You made a booking for two rooms, one for yourself and one for your friend and you gave us your credit card details to secure the booking for both rooms and to cover any incidentals. You stayed in room 5 and your friend stayed in room 15. On your departure we recorded an outstanding mini bar claim against room 15 and we debited the card that we had in the system for Room 15. You subsequently queried the charge and, without hesitation , we credited your card because we thought we had made a mistake and charge the card belonging to your room and not to room 15. We then went on to charge the card that belonged to room 15, not realising, at that time, that it was your card because you guaranteed both rooms with your card. Hence the second charge.
I explained this in our recent telephone conversation and you acknowledged that it was a genuine mistake. As advised, we have credited your card once more and hope that the explanation above has helped to clarify the incident.
Should you decide to travel through Bairnsdale in the near future, we will be more than happy to welcoming you back to the Comfort Inn Mitchell on Main.
